Vanilla Butter Cream Sauce

3/4 c butter
1 1/2 c sugar
3/4 c whipping cream
1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Combine all ingredients in a 2 qt saucepan.

Heat slowly over medium, stirring with a wire wisk to combine.

Bubble gently for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat & stir in vanilla.
Serve warm over cake.

Microwave: Heat in 1 1/2 minute intervals and stir until sugar is dissolved.

It takes about 5 minutes. Beware of boil-overs!

Stir in vanilla and serve warm.

I half this recipe to use with the rhubarb cake...1/2 the calories, right?
